  • A Mother's Love

This afternoon I decided to color my hair before going into the hospital. I get half of my head done and the phone rings. Amy cut her hand and needs stitches. Her DH is at the Gym without his phone. I hesitate for a half a second and rinse my hair and head over to her house (visible roots on half my head).

Several hours later she returns and I NEED to get to the hospital, so I clip up my hair, hoping it isn't too obvious. 11:00 p.m. I return home and decide to re-color my hair to get the entire head done. I have HALF my head done, and my next door neighbor (close friend and a single mom) calls. Her two sons aged 18 and 16 have been arrested for possession of marijuana. I again rinse my head and go with her to get the boys. It is now 5:00am,I haven't beento sleep, and my hair now really looks like crap, but I would do it all over again.

Wow, Luanne! Never a dull moment, huh? I think you should treat yourself to a salon coloring and let someone even it out while you take a nap and sip champagne.

I really think you should host some workshops for other mothers (and MILs). I know I'd send DH's mother in an instant! You are such a great mom.

Thanks!!! I slept until 1:30 this afternoon. My hair isn't too bad (it was semi-permanent color!) I have a salon appt in a couple of weeks. I feel bad for my neighbor, her boys were really litle shits. The police officer was very nice and tried to make it easy, but her older son was so nasty he made it worse for himself.
