  • What's for lunch?

My problem w/ exercising more and watching my calories is that I am obsessed w/ food. I start to think about it as an investment- like if it's going to count in my caloric intake it better be GOOD.

So, I've been obsessing about lunch since breakfast.

It didn't help that Anthony Bourdain was in the Hudson Valley of New York last night on the Travel Channel and his meals looked amazing.

Anyone have anything exciting happening for lunch? I think I might go Thai or Vietnamese but I'm still undecided.

Lean Cuisine pizza - eh - not exciting, but it will have to do...unless we get sent home early...

Jenn, you just reminded me how much ethnic food sucks here. I have no idea what to make for lunch. I haven't really felt like cooking in the past few days but don't want to dig into our frozen pile just yet. DH hasn't been too happy.

Leftover chicken noodle casserole. Totally not healthy, but yummy!

I ended up with Spinach Lentil soup and a side salad from Whole Foods because I needed to get laundry detergent and bananas anyway.

Still craving Thai or Vietnamese though.

Chicken noodle soup and the last of the beer bread. Beer bread is my New Favorite Thing--how did I live so long without it?

I had two carrots, a banana and a yogurt for lunch. I can rarely be bothered to prepare anything elaborate so I tend to just throw some healthy crap together in a bag and take it with me to work.

Chicken, cashew and broccoli salad and a vitamin water. I was STARVING. I also find that when I'm working out I crave better food and more protein. Went by the grocery store after the gym and was trying to pick the salad pack with the most chicken in it.

                Now I'm craving Thai, too.

I miss the Whole Foods salad bar.

I had leftover corn & butternut squash chowder and some of the buffalo chicken dip I made for the Super Bowl. It was a late lunch, so nothing too heavy.

                        Me too!

I had leftover pot roast today. Usually I have a can of the Progresso light soup (a can is about 2-4 Weight Watchers points). They're pretty good, and they have a lot of varieties. It's definitely not exciting, but it's cheap and easy.

Yesterday: Roast Beef on Ciabatta. No cheese and a little bit of low fat mayo with tomatoes, lettuce, and red onions. Delicious.

I know, I felt pretty faint at the gym after work. I do tend to compensate with very carb/protein rich dinners, however. The gf has the typical Irish attitude that "unless it's fried and includes at least two kinds of potato dishes, it's not really food".
