That night we went for a night swim, and when i got out it was gone--hours of pain for nothing. Jason just told me he wishes I would do it again but most of me thinks it is not appropriate for work. What do you guys think? It was just a teeny tiny little dot.
Ressurecting the very old b/c I'm sick today and just browing the archives.

On the nose piercing front, my FIL actually wanted me to get my nose pierced for our wedding (I've got to be the only one THAT happened to).

I have a tattoo around my ankle (just flowers) that I hate and have hated since about 10 minutes after I got it. I wanted it to look like mehndi (henna) but when the woman who did it suggested using that color, I said "no - I hate the way it looks when it fades". I was so nervous I forgot that THIS WON'T FADE IDIOT!

Jenn, a friend of mine just had her celtic knot tattoo turned into an acorn. I'm not quite sure where the acorn idea came from....but it actually looked cool once I saw it. Maybe you could have it changed or adjusted?

      Crack me up!

I like the small dot nose earrings and have thought about getting one for years. I can't imagine what my daughter would say!

I've got one! I got it my freshman year of college (go figure). My one regret is I went to a tatoo artist named Bonnie in Brunswick, ME. The tat is of a sun (a black outline and design of the sun). The color yellow on my skin wouldn't work so well. It is on my lower back on the left...or maybe the right...I can never remember anymore. Getting it didn't hurt that much at all and I am very fearful of needles (I stille squirm at the doctors office when blood needs to be drawn ).

I have 2, as does DH.

One of mine is on the inside of my ankle, its a yin yang with a snake wrapped around it so that it forms a stylized sign of Venus. Yin Yang for the duality of humans, snake because it was a symbol for the feminine in the ancient Near East, Venus because I was spelling women womyn at the time.

The other is a basic flash butterfly on my upper hip/ass.

Dh has a sun on his shoulder and a rose on his ankle.

I have waves around my ankle with a honu (sea turtle pteroglyph) on the outside of my ankle. I also have my lip pierced (lower right side). I don't wear it at the vet clinic though.

              No regrets here.

Just an FYI - yellow is the only tattoo color that can't be lasered off yet.

Jenn isn't it really common for Indian women to have their noses peirced? Did he have a ring he wanted you to wear?

Hilarious about the henna fading thing. Mine have faded over the 15 years since I got them.

I have no tatoos but I'm thinking about getting my Chinese name done. I've had my eyebrow pierced but had to take it out after a year because it kept getting infected. I've got 3 holes in one ear and two in the other. DF has a tatoo on his ankle, it's an A (for his name) which BTW he got done at 15 in his neighbors basement with a guitar string.

Yeah - my MIL has her nose pierced . There wasn't a specific ring they wanted me to wear, just to look "more Indian". (I'm really white - it wasn't gonna happen). In that vein, there was also a point where my MIL wanted to change my name (my FIRST name) so that her friends wouldn't realize that I was white from the invitations. She wanted to call my Jonquia (don't know if that's the right spelling - that's phonetically correct).

I also refused to participate in the ceremony where they slap tumeric paste all over your face, arms, legs, etc. The purpose is to make your skin more fair, and since they were complaining that I was too fair to marry their son, I didn't feel like I really needed to comply with that one.

No tattoos here and I'll never get one because I'm sure I would regret it at some point in my life....like when my son is 15 and begging me to let him get one. I do think they are cool on other people, though. I think naval rings are cool, but if I ever get one it'll be after I'm finished having children since my belly button gets so stretched when I'm pregnant.
