    Public Information!!

    Hey folks -

    Don't know how many of you know about this, but go search for yourself on Spokeo.com. It apparently collects information from public sources (and social sites perhaps?) and lists it in one convenient location. Personally, it creeps me out! So much of it is inaccurate! You can delete your listing by going to the "Privacy" tab at the bottom of the page.

    Just FYI.

    WOW. Apparently I live in a 600K house, while my husband who lives with me lives in a 1M dollar house, and we still live in South Carolina. I have a graduate degree and he finished high school. Oh, and that's just the tip of what is wrong. Holy crap.

      Interesting - they had mine pretty much right but they had DH listed at his parents current address which he has never lived at. How would that happen?

      I removed both of them - ridiculous!

        Wow. I guess years of not being listed in phone books pays off. Can't find myself or DH at all. Even the email address search came up with nothing - google's MUCH more effective at that part.

          ICK. It had me as a South Asian Aquarius (I'm a Capricorn and my HUSBAND is South Asian), and it has a picture of us with our child ... brown guy, white woman, beige kid, but not us. It had the google earth picture of our house, which creeps me out. I'm removing both of us.

            LOL Wow, my house is apparently worth 1 cool million. Let me call the realtor ASAP LOL Oh, and I have 2 people in my home...my spouse and my 30 year old daughter who is listed as a parent.

            I think the inaccuracies are an intentional attempt at getting people to sign in and correctly update.

              Yeah DH is an engineer with some college and has kids. Also his parents house where he "lives" is worth 1 million too. At least I'm not on there!

                  They don't have a listing for my name, but according to my phone number, I make 78k. I wish.

                  Oh, and DF is apparently the same age as his father. Haha

                    holy crap. we're on here. i'm a gemini (not), have kids (not), only highschool education (not), clerical/service worker (not). DH's stuff was more accurate.

                        They e-mail you a link which you have to click to remove you. I did and my stuff is already gone.
