Thanks guys, you made my day! (I didn't work on Monday, so I'm just now seeing your greetings.)
I can't believe that I'm 30! How did this happen? I still feel like there is a part of me that could go out and party all night and get up and go to work the next day. It has been years since I've done anything like this, however. Life is strange....you think that you will always be the same and then you go and grow up and you can't believe that you ever thought a certain way.
Anyway, I had an absolutely beautiful day. My parents drove 800 miles just to celebrate with me for a long weekend. DH, son, my parents and I toured all the local parks and ate at a nice japanese steakhouse where they cook the food on the table in front of you in Downtown Minneapolis. It was really quite chic. I enjoyed every moment of the day.
I have been preparing myself for several months to deal with this milestone. Not that thirty is old, but it is a wake up call that things do clip along at quite a pace. Hence the recent hair cut and marathon training. I tried to make it an "Oprah" moment
, but I have to tell you that it still took my breath away to realize how fast my life is going. All and all, I'm very happy with where I am and what I did with my twenties. So that is a long ramble in an attempt to describe all the emotions going through me. Thanks so much for all the great tidings!
