Hello my name is Kelly, and I'm an American Idol addict.

Anyone else out there willing to come clean?

I love this show. I call my mom long distance to talk about it. Yes, I know that we need to get a life. Seriously, it is a reality show that the whole family can watch. Even Simon does his beast to provide the villain which is necessary to make any good story complete.

    Any other takers?

Admitting your problem is the first step.
I haven't watched American Idol, but Eric and I are addicted to The Amazing Race. It's so hard to wait for the next week to see what happens! That reminds me that I have to check when the next season starts.

I haven't seen American Idol but do confess .... We are "Survivor" fanatics here. I even get on the website to make sure I didn't miss anything in the show.

I don't watch it either, but my sister does. She told me once that sometimes she cries because the singing is so beautiful, so of course me and my other sister tease her about that just about any chance we get! As far as reality shows, I actually watched one whole season of Temptation Island, and watched The Bachelor and Joe Millionaire for a season. That's it for me and reality shows.

I am a Bachelor addict!! I am glad I am not the only addict. My hubby always watches it with me and we try to figure out who will get the boot. DH says everyone at school talks about most of the reality shows the "day after" and there is always a copy of these shows on video being passed around. I never thought med students would have so much free time to watch as much tv as they do!

            Kelly,
I'm with you. I have voted every week. My dinner club is tonight and I have to set the VCR before I go.

I think my main guilty pleasure at this point is posting on this board!!! If I ever am watching TV, which sadly I do too often and really want to cut out, I try to be folding laundry or something else... My DH can't stand reality shows, except the amazing race which is neat b/c of the scenery, so if I ever watch one of those it tends to be while I'm on the elliptical trainer at the gym, and how much guilty pleasure can one get while on the elliptical trainer???

Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

Sue, you and me both! I have only indulged in these hook-up shows (Bachelor and Temptation Island). I moan throughout The Bachelor about how pathetic these women are but I can't turn away. As far as Temptation Island goes, I like to see the break-ups. I know - there's a cozy place in hell for me but gosh darnit I can't help it! I heard they auditioned for a Tempation Island 3 so I'm waiting with bated breath!

                  Guilty pleasures:
                  -internet time
-watching my favorite shows: Alias and Manor House (PBS goes 'Reality')
                  -reading frivolous magazines
Who uses a machete to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass

Yeah, the main reason my husband and I watched the whole season for temptation island was we couldn't wait to see who would end up breaking up. Then we were disappointed when they all stayed together (at least for the show--I think most of them broke up afterwards except the ones that got married.)

                      ME TOO!!!

I have to come clean that I am a reality show addict period. I watch almost every reality show that comes out. Right now, our current lineup includes Fear Factor, Mr. Personality, Survivor, American Idol, The Bachelor, All-American Girl, and Extreme Makeover (not to mention all the shows on MTV & E!). Our nightly plans revolve around these shows- we almost make sure to record them if we will be away. And as pathetic as it is, oftentimes, watching reality shows is how we spend our quality time together. It gives something to talk about that is completely separate from our otherwise, busy & stressful lives. When one show ends, another show just takes it place. But we're not ashamed. It's pure entertainment! Maybe next year, you'll get to see me on one! I have a secret dream to be the next American Idol and I have one more year to audition before I'm too old!! *lol* Who knows, right? I wouldn't mind getting a free makeover too sometime!

                        sorry

I just wanted to post a reply to my own reply to apologize for my horrible grammar- it looks like I left out certain words and also used wrong ones in my sentences. I just returned from 2 hours at the gym after a 12 hour midnight shift at work so my brain is a little kooky!
