Ok gang I got an iTouch (thank you AANS) and I need recs for apps. What can't you live without and what entertains the kids when necessary?

    Re: Apps

Preschool Adventure and Monkey Preschool Lunchbox. Those two and a "matching" game are Daegans favorites. I have Matches Free.

Of the 3 ereader apps I have, I like the Barnes and Noble one best (also have Stanza and Kindle). The reason I like the B&N one is because I find their prices to be reasonable and the website is easy for me to buy books. All 3 are easy to read books with and you can lock the screen so you can read on your side. It's easy to change font sizes and color scheme.

TapaTalk for when you have wifi.

I like Solitaire (SolFree I think it is) and WordWarp. I also like Scrabble.

LoseIt is a great calorie counter!

Internet requiring ones: Pandora (music), Facebook, Wikipanion

And if you do NFP or chart, FMC is the app that syncs with Fertility Friend.

I have an iPhone, so I'm not sure which apps work for both.

AppBox Pro is great - it has a lot of helpful utility programs, like unit conversions, translator, and games.

Words With Friends (I have the free version)

AroundMe is a nice search/map program

For games, I'm loving Plants vs. Zombies. Miriel the Magical Merchant (time management) and Yard Sale (hidden pictures) are two of my favorites.

I also use the Facebook app all the time, and Pandora is great.

I've got an iTouch, so I get the best use of my apps / etc. at home or at the gym (wifi).

I use the Scrabble app constantly. You can play with your FB friends, and it's lots of fun. I downloaded a free Curious George dictionary (Mattie is obsessed).

Pandora (again, wifi required). Baby Flash Cards (free version).

I'll be looking forward to other suggestions.

Hmmm, my apps are kind of boring I think! I have iphone apps, but I'm guessing a lot are for the touch too.

The Lose It app is great-- and free. It has a good food database on it where you can look up the nutritional info of lots of different foods.

I use some of the personal finance apps- I like "spending"- they do lots of updates and you can have different accounts so one is our overall household budget and another is my personal spending. It's easy to enter what you spend.

I have checkbook too- that's instead of my checkbook register.

We've been using the Cozi app, it's new and I think just for iPhone. It's for people who use the free Cozi online calendar. It's super helpful so far-- it's a family calendar and dh has the app now so he can just click on the app to know where we are instead of calling me all the time.

            Boring, right? Have fun!

Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

Doodle Jump. Not sure how "all ages" it is - but I'd imagine 3 and up would still be able to do it. There are a TON of kids story books if you look in the "educational" category.

I use Yelp a lot, and Facebook of course. When I'm bored I love the Civilization game (free limited version). I also have a Crosswords game that's fun. I just downloaded a pretty fun game- it's called like Angry birds? I think it's in the iTunes top 10 this week.

I use TextFree Unlimited a lot because I don't have a texting plan. So, if you want to text me, you can at heidil@textfree.us. I have an iphone, so I don't need wifi to use my apps. I like the Bing 100 songs by year app, facebook app, Tapatalk, bejeweled and a bunch of other games that were free, sportstacular and espn score center, urbanspoon, grocery iq, lose it, my bank, a few credit card bills, att bill, weather, flixster, stanza, kindle, pandora.

Oh lord. I downloaded Doodle Jump on Angie's suggestion ... it's addictive! Cheri - your kids are too young for it, but the boys took to it very quickly (me, too).

Doodle Jump... How come my 8 year old played if for about 10 minutes before he beat my record?

It struck me yesterday at Steven's swim meet that I'm never going to be able to swim faster than he can again. And video games? Forget it. It makes me feel old...........................
