  • Kind of funny, now...

I just got back from Temecula Valley, CA (lovely- nice wineries, great restaurants- generally a better business trip!) and ended up at the Ontario Airport for HOURS. Finally got on board and had a plane change in Phoenix. I had about 30 minutes so I got some take-out Chinese from this place called Yoshi's. As the trip continues, suddenly I'm dying of thirst- so the only thing I wanted was Ginger Ale (clue #1).

Then I land, I get home and I turn into an absolute nasty bitch. My poor husband (clue #2). Then I sleep fitfully and end up getting up and going to the gym. At the gym, I'm alternately pouring out sweat and getting chills (clue #3). Finally, I go home, and have to make appetizers to take to Nikolai's piano recital. I'm pretty close to puking throughout the entire process (clue #4).

We run out the door to the recital and I'm miserable. Hot, then cold, then achy, then the whole cycle starts again. Rick is asking me repeatedly how I'm feeling.

The recital ends, I send the boys into the reception and I decide to go outside. It's 94 degrees outside. I walk outside and BAM- I knew that I was going to lose my lunch (except that it wasn't lunch- it was breakfast because I hadn't eaten anything all day) This woman starts talking to me about how hot it is. Thank goodness she got into her car and was pulling away- because at that moment- Yep- I was that person puking by the dumpster. A lot.

Nice, huh? I don't think anyone from the recital saw me as they were mostly all in the reception.

and the fun continued all night. I sent the boys to the corner store for some Mexican Coca-Cola (w/out HFCS) and managed to sip that throughout the night.

and today? I feel like I was run over by a bus but at least I don't have to puke in public.

      Yuck, yuck, yuck.

On our way to our honeymoon, I had pancakes at one of the 50's style diner counters at O'Hare and ended up puking the entire flight. Great way to start a trip...

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. I hope you feel better soon. I was sick earlier this week, too and slept a whole day and night except for essential mommy time. It always seems like such a surprise once you have kids and work and ...life (!) to get knocked down hard by a germ. It does happen, though. Traveling makes it so easy to pick them up, too. Take care of you and feel better.

Ugh, getting sick in public is so humiliating. Hope you were not seen and that you feel better soon.

Get well soon - it's no fun being sick, and double not fun when you're a mom and you're sick.

I'm impressed that you held it together through a recital.
How are you feeling? Have you gotten rid of all the muck yet?!

Im better- two bottles of Mexican coke (the liquid, not the, ahem, powder) and I was on the path to betterness. Today I've kept it to mild stuff. I've just come in from working on the flippin' yard but that's a vent for another day. The piano teacher didn't mention anything today so I hope I escaped notice.
