Do they really work? Or is it a waste of money? We just moved and our water tastes gross

We bought a water cooler from Home Depot and would get the 5 gal jugs when we lived in Chicago - Chicago water is known for being ok, but our pipes made it taste disgusting. It was awesome! I don't like our tap water here, but our fridge filters the water - and it is so much better! We did one of the Pur on-the-tap filters back when we lived in Indy, and it worked pretty well, too. For growing up with well-water (which I can't stomach anymore), I am quite sensitive to water with any type of taste

I love my water filters. I've had a Brita filter in the past, but I really prefer the Pur water filter we have now.

There really is something about the water where you are now that just tastes flat to me...

That said - I don't like the taste of filtered water, or bottled water for that matter.

Flat is a good way to describe it - it's just weird

If you get one that goes on the faucet, pay extra for a metal one. We cracked 2 of the plastic versions by accidentally turning on the hot water.
