  • What has been the best thing about your summer so far?

I love summer. I don't love the extreme (high 90's) heat and humidity we're having right now, but in general, I love summer, especially warm summer nights and being outside a lot. The best thing about my summer so far has been two things: some fun short trips and also the time to read. In May my hubby and I went to NYC for four days--had a great time sightseeing. My favorite thing we did was have drinks on the rooftop garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We also went to Boston for a wedding in June, and did some sightseeing there. I really enjoyed going to Boston Common and the Public Garden.

I've also really enjoyed the time to read. I'm currently reading a good fiction book, and finished a good non-fiction book last month.

    What about you?

Settling into our new house Otherwise, the summer was busy and slightly stressful - and waaaaaay to short (as teacher-summers go)!

The pool. I'm so glad we've had a place to hang out with the kids this summer.

Getting married and going to St. Lucia on our honeymoon!

I'm also enjoying all of the fresh produce - the blueberries are in! Oh, and summer reading - much better than books about higher education administration.

DH is home from overseas. DD#2 arrived. DS seems to be having a wonderful summer--well-deserved, after such a trying school year. DD#1 has stopped drooling so badly (seriously--this may what I am most excited about. She was really gross...!!).

I looooove summer. It has been aswesme hanging out with the kids: reading, constructing enormous lego kits, long days at the pool, boating at my parents' cabin. I can't get enough even though it feels a little crazy with three of them all day long sometimes.
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.
