It's related to where they have their distribution centers. Cheri - I'm sure when we get one it will be on the MO side, but seeing as how I've driven from Cleveland to Columbus for tj'sbefore, going to the MO side isn't an issue for me.

(I think!) Other than that, I think they would flourish here in CO, but I don't think they want to deal with CO alcohol laws. I know when someone in my office got a TJ's care package from family I was the first at his desk "Any Joe-Joes?!" Of course, he had the peppermint Joe-Joes *and* he shared. Plenty of ppl here still love TJs and Ikea.

This is what I always hear from the council members, and I'm not sure I believe it. The law here is that only one outlet of a store can have full-fledged alcohol sales... basically forbidding chain liquor stores. So if you ever go to the Super Target in Glendale, for example, you'll see full liquor selection, while none of the others have it. That's the one store Target picked. I'm from Nevada where there are basically no liquor laws, so I find this all strange. But like Jenn said, there have been TJs in Maryland for years with no wine sales.

I'm guessing it's a distribution issue for Denver. We aren't close to much. They're always complaining about how hard it is to get *any* grocery chain to add stores here. Albertson's has nearly pulled out entirely.
