  • Tornado in Dallas today

Came a little too close to Parkland...a friend of mine got to see it from a conference room in a downtown building.

Don't know but it was nuts here in San Antonio yesterday. We were sent home early for the first time ever. Last night I ended up with both dogs and the boy in bed with me for the HOURS of thunder and lightening. Scary. There are trees down all over San Antonio.

Did you hear about the light pole that fell on a car in a Target parking lot yesterday? Yep, my friend's car. Poor girl!

As for today? Sirens went off soon after Maggie's ballet class started. Had to yell over the music to her teacher, then to the other two teachers, that sirens were going off. We emptied the studios and got the kids lined up in the hallway & dressing room. That was fun. Yep. 20 minutes of fun. Including some idiot dad who was mad that his daughter was missing her make-up class. One of the teachers got to explain the liability and danger of keeping the kids in the studios (with huge mirrors along one wall in each one) during a tornado warning. Duh.

I have to say that Tornadoes are the one thing I DO NOT miss about Texas... Give me an earthquake any day. Glad to hear everyone is alright!

Nothing terrifies me more than hearing the tornado sirens.

To be honest, I get pretty scared too, and people don't understand it, since I liked to chase the dang things. Chasing one and having it "chase" you are two completely different scenarios! A couple people asked me if I went to chase it... In a city? During rush hour? Heck no--I don't have a death wish!
