Anyone else going to try it this year?

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/

I signed up for myself because I'm forcing my 9th grader to do it! LOL We are going to support each other!

We might even convince Andrew and Alex to get into the act.

I'm so tempted every year... Hmm, maybe this will be my year! Not committing yet, but I kind of want to.

That looks FUN!!! You'd have to do nearly 2000 words a day... I don't think I can justify the time, but it's tempting... Maybe if I finally finish my sister's wedding album by Nov. 1. I'd have to see how long 2000 words of stream-of-consciousness writing would take.

I hope you have fun! It sounds inspiring.

I did this back in 2003 when I had UBER amounts of free time. And, it was challenging even then! So, as much as I really want to do it again, I highly doubt I could actually finish. It would be better for me to set a smaller goal and try to reach that. But, it's still hard to get motivated.

Still - I recommend it to those who have time, it is very fun. I enjoy writing, and this helps you focus on getting the words down. There is less focus on whether your writing is good or not because there is no time for editing, so you just think of the story and write it down as it comes in your head. No need to worry about anything else. Then, you do word count, and get excited about how many words you've written! Good luck to those who give it a try!
