Turkey day at the inlaws and my family comes up from nyc for dinner at their house...this year MIL is hosting 35 folks...I think she is going to lose her mind. My 2 brothers, sister, dad, nephew and brothers pregnant longterm girlfriend will all be staying with us for a few days. I can't wait! This is our 3rd combined family turkey day and so far it's been great especially for ne and DH so we don't have to choose. The perks of having the only grandkids in the family.

In-laws are visiting, coming up Tuesday evening, probably staying through Sat. or Sun (which is great; they're fun). In a cruel twist of fate, *I* am on call all weekend, and DH isn't. Of course, my "call" means "keep an eye on the ticket system, and if something huge comes up, call the person who can deal with it". I'm not TOO worried, though I have heard horror stories; apparently one year a site we host for a mall went down from overload on the day after Thanksgiving. Oops.

It's complicated. We're still in the process of trying to work through in-law drama to come up with a suitable plan. In any event I get to see my brother and brothers in law, which should be fun. I'm also hoping to have time to finish some sewing projects with my mom.

J will be arriving home Thurs afternoon post call. His sister is going to drive in town and hopefully he will wake up for a dinner. We have opened our doors to any Thanksgiving Orphans, but have not found any. I'm kinda apathetic about thanksgiving this year for some reason. Hopefully the week of I will get all motivated and what not.

Dh will be post call so he will probably sleep & be his usual unavailable self. Will probaly cook something but again that depends on dhs availablity. O doesn't let me spend too much time in the kitchen so it can be a challange. Guess we will see.

We're participating in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 4 mile walk/run- me and the dude. It's to raise food and funds for the Food Bank. After that we'll head over to the airport and pick up my husband who arrives at noonish. He'll be here for 10 days-there's a neurology conference in SA so your tax dollars are paying for this trip- and we thank you for it. I've made reservations for Biga on the Banks- a fabulous restaurant on the Riverwalk. We go there every year for Thanksgiving. If I'm not at my mom's house then I'm going untraditional.

My mother usually hosts a big group but this year it'll just be my brother and his family and apparently my nephew is devastated that no one else is coming.

DH is on vacation this week, so we're hosting Thanksgiving dinner for our Bible study group on Wednesday. Next week DH will be off Thursday and Friday, so we'll go to his parents' for Thanksgiving dinner. Then I'll go on our annual after-Thanksgiving shopping trip, and we'll leave DS with my in-laws Friday night. (DH is on call on Saturday, so he has to head back on Friday.) As much as I love our shopping trip, I'm most looking forward to getting a full night's sleep!

We are also doing Tgiving dinner with our small group (potluck style, with Asian fusion!! Cantonese, Korean, and maybe some Indian food) the day of.
Can't wait! It's the next best thing to family (and DH's family doesn't celebrate anything, so...). Yay for Turkey!

Dh is off on Thursday, on again on Friday. He's on vacation this week, and we're going skiing on Whistler's opening day of the season (this Fri). I'm so happy to be back in the NW!

DH has off from this Thursday until Wednesday, and will have to go in for a bit on T-day. We are going to Chicago this weekend (just Sun-Mon), and then both our families are coming to our place for Thanksgiving. It will also be my first time hosting/cooking Thanksgiving - so we shall see how it all turns out!

My husband has an ENTIRE WEEK OFF!!! Oh my goodness I am so excited. It's our first vacation during residency and it will be well deserved. My parents and my oldest sister and her husband and my nieces are coming out from California to visit. My Aunt and her partner live in Santa Fe (about 45 minutes away) and are hosting actual dinner. And my parents have oh so graciously booked us all rooms at a swanky hotel up there for Wednesday and Thursday night. After all that we get to fly back to Texas to visit his family. I really can't express how elated I am to see that much of my husband and some how to have worked it out that we get to see BOTH families for a holiday, that never happens. Now we just have to make it through one more week of hellacious call... (Today, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday AND next Tuesday, ugh.)
