DH really respects the chief and I'm sure he meant it as "it will look bad if you don't go." Either that or that's how DH chose to interpret it.

I really wanted to go anyway, just annoyed that we had to inconvenience our friends and change plans. I'd been asking DH for weeks to get details about the party, and if he had asked earlier he would have heard that it was moved! I am really flexible and just felt that it was DH's fault that we didn't hear that the party was changed, so I felt it should be HIS responsibility to apologize and explain to our friends.

I'm looking forward to finally putting faces with all the names I've heard about.

    Cheri - love your avatar.

Yes, we are going to ours. Neither of us enjoyed it so much last year either. Haha.

DH is letting me keep all the stuff I bought in the Vera Bradley store today. And he really wants me to go to the party Sat night. I asked my mom about babysitting and she really thinks I should go too. I guess I can be bought with a new purse, make-up bag, cooler and tin of mints.

The dept. scraped up some funding, and they are having the Xmas party after all!
Not at the PD's house, and no tacos-to-order guy (man I miss Javier!), but still... good stuff.
