  • I would be happy about this snow

If it weren't so freakin cold. Cold like melting snow forming ice balls under my wiper. I drove Andrew to his mandatory band thing blind. On the way home I stopped at Mills Fleet Farm on the way home to pick up an ice scraper. The parking lot was full! These Minnesotans are serious about their winters.

I hit the mall on the way home. The lit was mostly empty. Fortunately, most people aren't idiots.

Which actually makes me winder what I was doing there! Lol

I'll now stop whining about the dry cold here. It is only 32 degrees at 6 am, and I'm now officially embarrassed about whining. I could never tolerate Minnesota weathers.

It is currently 18, feels like 6 and we got 9 inches - who wants to come visit?

My van thermometer says 57. 39 must have been wrong. I still find temps below 70 to be repellant.

I still prefer too cold to too hot. And December snow to March snow. Eeek!

Also I kind of hate having a baby/toddler Hazel's age during the winter (heavy and squirmy to carry, too little to go outside but too big to stay cooped up inside, hard to bundle up), but I will comfort myself with the reminder that at least she doesn't have mandatory band practice.

Also I have a fall-colored door wreath that I always swap out for the Christmas wreath at Thanksgiving, and this year it felt like I had left it up way too long because it was already white and snowy by Thanksgiving.

I am laughing about it all. Not sure how much snow we got at home - I am guessing around 6". I am about 3.5 hours south of there and there is around an inch on the ground. I watched tv last night and saw tons of preemptive cancelations and delays for activities today.

It so wasn't worth it to keep C home from school all day yesterday so we could make an early start to see his dad.

It's 28F here with a lake effect snow warning. We're supposed to be on the receiving end of 12" of snow this weekend.

Glad I didn't venture to Chi this weekend. The poor showing here had me feeling a bit guilty, but I am glad that I didn't go and get stuck there! Kris - they cancelled detention for the kids this morning

Holy balls, I'd imagine NW Canada would be insane this time of year.

                          It's 80 degrees and sunny.

I told you all that you can hate me all winter and laugh at me all summer.

After 4 years of living in the AZ desert, regular weather patterns are OK by me. I'm just not ready for the snow this year. I'm being a big baby. Our oldest has jazz band at 6:30am, which is before the plows get to our part of town and I just don't feel like dealing with it yet.

We also have a lake-effect snow warning until Tuesday. We're now expected to get 20".

UGH! The night I was out was to take Andrew to a mandatory basketball game for him to play with the van. The whole way there, I just couldn't understand why on earth anyone would be out in the blowing/drifting snow, etc. The streets were awful, but there were people out ... and the bb game wasn't canceled. This winter snuck up on me. We went from beautiful 15F above normal temps to ... bam ... cold and snow.

I have started showering at night, putting on cuddle duds and ... not removing said cuddle duds until the next night to shower again ... and change into clean ones. It sounds gross, but ...I just don't care.
