Oh they started long before that - they used to protest on my college campus in the late 90's because we supposedly had a large number of gay students so they had signs that said Gay-U. I'm not sure when they went nationwide but they should all be shot!

Someone was recently arrested for stalking the Westboro Baptist Church van and plotting to harm them. I had to remind myself that I'm peace loving and anti-gun.

I heard that some in Raleigh are planning to line the sidewalks near the funeral home and try to fill the space in silent respect. If you know anyone in Raleigh, ask them to look in to it.

There's a time and place for protests, and I am thinking this isn't one of them

Amusing (to me) story... They protested a military funeral here in Oklahoma (McAlester), and someone slashed their tires while they were away. No one in town would fix the flat tires for them.

Anyway, I think it's awful for them to show up at any funeral, and I hope some of the bikers also come to drown them out.

OK, as a sworn officer of the court, I can't condone this criminal activity, but I can definitely CHEER! the town's collective refusal to help with their tires. That's so awesome!

I have never understood people who become obsessed with strangers' sins...if you believe that participating in homosexual behavior is a sin, then you must believe in a lot of other sinful behavior, too...some of which, surely, you participate in...why don't you go concentrate on changing that...for example, having no compassion for your fellow man in their time of grief certainly has to fall into the category of failing to love your neighbor, right?
