Cakewrecks has most definitely taken a horrible day at the office to a "this job is almost tolerable" day.

I can't believe I forgot my favorite blog...dlisted. I love me some celebrity gossip, and the snark on the site it not for the weak at heart. I love it
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

I used to really like pinkisthenewblog. But since he became more "famous" he's been way too PC. I liked it better when it was full of pics with thought bubbles and snarky comments. Now it's like a celeb news site with public service messages thrown in.

I like amalah.com -- she's funny as heck (and is not afraid to express neuroses that I, myself, have in some ways). Mom of 2, one more on the way *Note: if you don't approve or like foul language, you probably shouldn't read it.
I'm not advocating certain usage, I just think that most of them time it fits. Even if it wouldn't necessarily come out of my own mouth.

She also posts on a site called alphamom.com -- she made the 0-40 pregnancy calendar. You should take a look at that, too - hysterical!!

(Oh, and shitmykidsruined.com... but technically, that's not a blog.)

I realized today that I cant really stand 90% of the blogs I used to love a year ago. Is it me or them? I feel like I've gotten bitchier in the past few years. It's probably me.

I do still love Young House Love, though.

I love Young House Love too! If I actually had a house and the money to redecorate or renovate, I'd be all over that blog for ideas. Except for all the hipster crap like animal figurines and chevrons.

I find that most blogs have a "life cycle" with my interest, going from "meh" > "ZOMG I LOVE IT!" > "bored now." > "hate it." It's like a middle school friendship friendship where you think you're twinsies, and you spend way too much time together, and then you discover that you disagree on something fundamental and you start thinking of her in a different light. Then you slowly drift apart.

I'm not really following many right now other than YHL. I still page through the Pioneer Woman for recipes sometimes, but I find her really annoying. I look at a bunch of others but I don't really follow.

I haven't been reading many either, not even PW. No specific reason, but I just don't have as much time to spend online since DD isn't nursing anymore, and blogs were the first to go.

                  I read YHL obsessively.

I also like Momastery and BabyRabies and I also follow the blogs of several families we know from Kenya/East Africa that are trying to adopt children there. It's something I'm really interested in so I like to see what's going on.

We met a couple in med school, who are Mormon. In fact, that was mostly who we hung out with...as there was a large group of Mormons in school. It's who we shared the most things in common with. Family, young, not there to party...
One of my besties to this day is the wife of said couple love her for all the reasons dd said. <3
Blogs...I read post secret every single Sunday. I read dlisted. I'm in love with Michael K. OMG. He's so disgustingly hilarious. Loooove. I read celebitchy. Bakerella. A few horse blogs, and a few peeps from here....
I used to have a blog, but I don't have time to keep up with it, so I locked it.

Blogs are my guilty internet pleasure. So fun to glimpse into others' lives (or at least the version of their lives that they curate for mass appeal, as it sometimes seems). My favorites are fashion blogs, probably because I'm jealous of all the cool clothes (I have to dress professionally at work, which sometimes = boring). I like Atlantic Pacific for inspiration.

I'm fascinated by the Mormon blogging movement, having never met any Mormons in real life, or really not having known much about the culture prior to learning about it via blogs. I love the emphasis on simple pleasures and happy home life. But I've read that the culture also values materialism, which might fuel the conspicuous consumption that I see in many Mormon blogs. Nonetheless, it's very interesting and I'm totally addicted!

Really? I've known a metric shit ton of Mormons and have never gotten the impression that materialism was ever a thing. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Yep, this is how I seem to cycle through my blogs. I followed a lot of wedding photogs blogs when I was one, then I got into a big interior design phase, then food blogs, then DIY blogs, then travel blogs, etc. Right now my google reader is a complete smorgasbord because after each phase I end up deleting all but a couple of favorites.

Nienie and rock star diaries have a lot of "stuff" but I don't think they are your average Mormon mommies. I like NieNies insights on life after an accident but am annoyed that she seems to do a pro photo shoot for her kids every week.

Same. We have a ton of Mormons at work and materialistic is probably the second last word I would use to describe them. (The last word would be "drunk".)
