Who's ready for snow/ice/general destruction?

I sat with my legs in the pool for about a half hour at around 8:00 a.m. I think the kids and I will go swimming this afternoon now that I have the pool (finally) all fixed up. Today, the high will be 80 degrees, so that sounds like decent swimming weather, and then I can relax in the hot tub.

SNOW DAY! Whoo Hoooo. I know for some of you, this would make you drive your car into a snow bank but for here, it's awesome. It's appropriate, too since 1) these Texans have no idea how to manage on icy roads, 2) they don't have the appropriate clothing and 3) it's still not above freezing for day 3.

We went outside and took pictures and I took the dogs across the street to the school yard (there is a now defunct elementary school across the street from my house- the one my child attends is three blocks over. Why they had two schools nearly across the street from each other is beyond me) and they ran around like puppies. The cats are less thrilled and Trouble seems to be blaming me for the snow. I got the stinkeye when she came in this morning.

and it'll be in the mid-60s by the weekend so it's all good. I'm enjoying having a real winter.

Vanquisher, you are killing me over here.... I usually don't mind the winter but it is so cold I can't stand it. Some of my best friends from grad school live in Phoenix and I'm pretty sure it's only a 6 hr drive. I swear I might pack the dogs in the car this minute and leave DH to his call and this miserable cold!
