Seeing that I don't have a romantic bone in my body, we don't do anything. Reading some of these menu plans has me rethinking though. Yummy!

No plans here. Dh is on call. We tried to visit him earlier today to give him his phone that he left home but was unable to reach him. Eventually we saw another resident & passed off the phone. He was off all weekend but is in 24hr study mode & I'm the annoyed widdow so no lovies here.

Dh has been amazing this past week! I've gotten a small gift and card each day since Wednesday. Earrings, sugar scrub soap etc and tonight I was told not to cook . I bought him some nice beer glasses since we've got our cabinets stocked with our various home brews! I'm more excited that my nephew is in the process of being born right now and it's my dads birthday so now we will have 2 valentine birthdays in the family!

Maggie and Ella picked out heart shaped ravioli last week at Costco so we'll have those for dinner. I'm not feeling well so I won't be baking, but a nearby bakery must have known that -- they had a lovely selection of cupcakes so I picked four (hubby and kiddos).

OK Jenn, what happened to your two friends?
Neither of them met their true loves which is funny since it was for them. Eventually Leslie did her thing on match.com and she met her husband through them. Carin also did the online dating thing but wasn't particularly successful (she used Jdate- the one for Jewish singles)- she ultimately was introduced to her husband through their mutual massage therapist- Carin is an ultra-marathoner and actually NEEDS a massage therapist.

Mine too. I'm not surprised but I'm a little sad. We've been together 15 years today. He is off today but we have a day of chores and errands to do! At least we are all together.

We don't do gifts. I made DH a card and snuck it in his lunch. He's working, so I'll feed the kids pizza and then after they go to bed we'll have our V day traditional shrimp scampi [my stepdad's recipe from when he was a chef in a fancy hotel] over rice, salad, a bottle of shiraz, and I picked a small cheesecake.

I just got a delivery of roses and chocolate that asked whether I'd be his and our dd's Valentine? I teared up. All he said was: you are worth it and I want to spoil you with my bday money. *swoon* Then I asked if he mistook me for his mistress. *snicker*

ETA: Usually we do cards and maybe share a cupcake, this came outta nowhere!

This is me. I think being allergic to flowers and chocolate also makes the holiday a bit off putting for me I always said, I don't want a day that you have to say I love you, but would rather be surprised on a random day, just because. Thus, I don't celebrated a mandated day. Can you tell I don't like being told what to do? lol. Also, J's bday is in two days and the thought of more gifts just drives me nuts. J is on call anyway. I am debating taking him dinner. It so nice out that a walk to the metro to pick up dinner and take it to him would be a treat.

DH doesn't get home until late on Mondays so we celebrated this morning by going out for cappuccino and croissants at the cafe down the street. It was so charming it may be our new tradition!

Meh, I can't get worked up over this one bit. I'm also one of those people who don't like being told to celebrate love on a specific day. We went all out on the first year we were together, a mere 2 weeks after we started dating. I don't think we've done anything similar since. I hate how they inflate flower prices for this. HATE IT. And who ever thought long-stemmed roses are more desirable and worth more? Who cares about stems anyway? I cut them short.

What I CAN get behind is cupcakes, chocolate, and cakes. Yes, please. But I can get those on any other day.

I'll go sit in my corner now.

We can cuddle together, Cristina. We don't do anything, either. DH is actually in town, which is weird, but I haven't even thought about what we're having for dinner ...

Since our anniversary is the first and my birthday is the 10th, we usually just chill on VD. I'm planning on making chocolate chip cookies and drinking wine.

Low key here. We don't ever do gift or cards. We took the dogs for a walk when he got home.
