  • It's HOT!

The forecast high for us today is 104, and we are supposed to be in the hundreds (that doesn't even seem correct to type!) all week long!

How come we can be so far north in Texas and still be the hottest place in the state most of the time? (I secretly think it is because this place is the closest to hell you can get --- both figuratively and literally --- without actually being there.)

Our air conditioner (the fan motor) is on the verge of breaking, also. The nice repairman who came yesterday figured out a way to keep it working through the night so we wouldn't have to pay weekend rates to get it fixed. I have a feeling this one is going to cost us.

I went out to water before 8:00 and going outside was like being hit from a blast of hot air from an oven. UGH!

    HOT

Wow, Sally!!!!! And an air conditioner on the edge too? My mom's AC just went out two weeks ago..they came out and fixed it and it broke again this past weekend...She's in the DFW area, so it isn't quite as hot....but I don't envy you at all! I hope that it will be a cheap fix! 8)

I'm sending a MN cold front your way It's 'only' 80 here today...

The summer heat is definitely something I do NOT miss about Texas. Central air-conditioning is such a necessity there - you can literally die without it.

That sounds HOT. Especially miserable when it starts so early in the morning.
It's been hot here -- but not that hot! I think it was 98 or 99 yesterday but around 25-30% humidity -- much lower than were you are, I bet.

Whew. Hope your AC hangs in there.

          Sally,
In Wichita Falls they have that big bike race you know, in August. they don't call it the "Hotter than Hell" for nothing. Sometimes I think I tolerate the Texas heat much better than the 85 degree 85% humidity of God forsaken Ohio!
