Right there with you! Except we've crossed the 4 dollar threshold here on Long Island. . .

I hear ya! We have two Suburbans and an F150 for DD, and it's baseball season and dance competition season, not a great combo.

At times like these I love my Yaris and my 8 mile round-trip commute.

I don't even look when I fill up the tank anymore. My commute is short and I drive a little car, but it still makes me sad.

I hate it, but it seems like it is the only thing that starts to get people talking about alternative energy sources. Though there doesn't seem to have been as much chatter this time around--maybe all the news in still sucked up in the Royal Wedding?

It is at the point that it is really, really hard for a lot of families. If you have to fill up your gas tank once a week, and you work an average job, you're spending at least a full day, if not more, of your workweek just to pay for gas! It's outrageous, and it isn't sustainable. People can't continue to pay this much. I really hope something is done about this very soon. Meanwhile, record profits for oil companies continue.

We're still closer to $3.50, but I'm sure it'll get worse. I'm working the bus back into my routine. And adding in my bicycle if the weather ever picks up.

I paid almost $50 to fill my little CR-V. We would love to buy more fuel-efficient cars, but I need more room, not less. And at 35mpg, DH's '92 Accord is pretty good. Oh, and there's the matter of not having the money for the expensive hybrids.

Our new-to-us minivan has a huge tank so the gas station always involves sticker shock. But it gets about 20 mpg and about 90% of my driving is within a 2 mile radius so we don't fill up very often. If we're toting one or fewer kids, we take the '93 Camry sedan.

I noticed on my how today that we're at $3.80 something. We live in a town where mass transit really isn't an option so we just live with it.

Now I'm glad DH insisted on living within two miles of the hospital! Gas is over $4.00 here but luckily I putter around a five mile radius. We fill up once a month. A friend posted a pic of $100 for his fill-up. Yikes!

Gas was $3.88/gal and jumped to $4.17/gal in a few hours a couple days ago. No reason, just a big ass jump. State AG is even launching probes about the quickly wonky prices. I happened to stop at the nearest gas station to us and at the time it was the LAST place in town to still have the $3.88/gal pricing. Lines were 10-12 cars deep in every direction. Wait had to have been 20-30 minutes.

It's about $3.75 here. In Hawaii it was $4.65 (3 weeks ago, It's probably close to $5 now).

I hate my Chrysler Town & Country (nothing to do with gas--it is just a horrible vehicle that handles like day-old pudding) and I love by 8 mile round-tripper, too.
