This is exactly why I was freaking out. Its a 9 min drive, 20 in afternoon traffic but a third of it is over a bridge. He finally got home about 8:45. Hello 38 hour day. His response to my, how do you do surgery on no sleep? "I got three, maybe four, hours of sleep. I am totally awake". love it. I can't wait until July and this rotation is over.

HAAAA! I am not laughing at you, at myself for doing the same thing! I freaked out so much one time that I went to the hospital when he didn't answer my call, than had him paged (after I saw his car in the parking lot) when he didn't answer the page I started crying to the nurses at the nurses station. About 25 minutes later they found him studying in a secret room in the hospital. (he had no heard the page) the doctors felt so bad for me they let him go home even thou he was on call. He claims he told me he was on call that night and I wasn't paying attention to him that morning. I feel for ya!

Does he have an iphone 4? You can track him via the "Find my iphone" feature on Mobile Me. It is free for iphone4 users, but I believe an iphone 4 owner can register other older iphones.

*Note: I swear I don't track my husband down all the time, we just noticed it was a possibility when we set up this feature last week. Might come in handy some day.

My DH thought this was so great, he told me I could make sure he was still at the hospital, etc. I've never used it...

You can also get the "Family Tracker" service and track every phone on your account. We added it to our account when we went to WDW just in case we were separated. Like the Find My Phone apps, it only works if the phone is on and within signal range. Which DH never has at the hospital.

You don't need mobile me to track your iPhone 4 - you just download the app and set it up.

I find the tracker stuff kind of creepy. Am I weird?

Ok--that makes sense. I just don't like the idea of people knowing where I am at all times, especially my spouse. That just seems crazy to me.

lol When I told J about the app he asked in his joking voice, "so you want to support your stalker tendencies?" It doesn't matter since he doesn't have the 4 anyway, but has promised to call before leaving the hospital on post call days so I know that he has left and if he doesn't make it home with in 30, I can start panicking.

Today he got home and I said, J, you didnt call! He goes "I thought you wanted me to call when I got home?" (usually I get home after him post call days). I asked him how him calling when he got home would help me know he has left the hospital and is possibly dead on the side of the road. lol. He then realized that him calling when he got home did not solve the problem. He is actually pretty good about calling before he leaves since I usually get dinner on or finish the last bits of it when he leaves so its ready when he gets home. So he should be good about calling post call too. I hope.
