Now is a good time to learn that in medicine you go where it dictates. You go almost anywhere over not going. I dont think people who haven't been through the process yet get how little choice/control you have over where you go for school or training.

DH applied to 25 schools, private and public, in and out-of-state. He got accepted to his top choice, which happened to be in-state, and a great school.
...Then, with Match, he wasn't so fortunate. You just never know. The debt is pretty much an unavoidable reality of medicine. If people really knew the amount it takes, I think fewer applicants would be seen overall.
Make him cast a big net.

HaHaHa...we were discussing everything last night and he said "Is that what the board says?" lol He's agreed to applying to 10 schools now. I may push for a few more; we'll see. Now we just need to figure out which 10 to apply to. Eek!
