Just curious to know if your DH goes out in scrubs. DH will absolutely not, even if they are clean. I asked him to run to the grocery store on his way home from the hospital and he passed the store came home and changed and then went!? We have a friend who does her errands in her scrubs. I've seen a few people, but honestly not sure if they are techs, eating in restaurants with them on. I also see techs in their scrubs at the store.

BTW can you all tell that I am home alone on a Friday night and bored out of my mind?

I see nurses/techs/etc. out in their scrubs here all the time but residents and staff are not "allowed" to leave or enter the hospital in scrubs. They still do but they're not supposed to so no, DH doesn't run errands in scrubs because he doesn't wear them outside the hospital.

We live right next to the hospital. We see people in scrubs everywhere.

DH is absolutely, positively not EVER allowed to wear scrubs out of the hospital with even a speck of blood on them. He is not even supposed to walk down the hospital hallway like that. The chairman does not like that AT ALL.

But he wears scrubs everywhere. He even wore them to another doc's funeral a couple of weeks ago, when he snuck away while on-call. But then, there were several people there in scrubs.

I have to stop DrK from wearing scrubs to the gym, on flights, everywhere.

Well I'll tell you, I wore some of DH's 100 pairs of scrubs while we were moving and those things are tha bomb! He will happily lounge all day in them as long as he is in the house and will even mow the lawn in them.

DH wears scrubs out occasionally, but only if he has to do something on the way home from work and he was on-call.

My husband doesn't wear scrubs. Ever. He wears his ACUs (the new 'fatigues') and a doctor coat over them. When he was a resident they weren't allowed to wear them out of the hospital and he never did because they were covered in child germy cess pool ick. He also never wears his Class A uniform (which is thankfully about to go away forever- that's the one that I'm pretty sure is modeled on the Girl Scout uniform. Dress Blues are not work appropriate- and they're going away, too. (So, yes, we're out another $500 for a uniform he never wears.)

I will drag DH out to lunch at local hole-in-the-walls post-call in scrubs every once in awhile. We were actually out tonight at a nice bar/restaurant and there were some people in scrubs and I thought it was kind of lame. We were sitting at the bar having cocktails and I was annoyed having a visual intrusion of DH's work on one of his only Friday nights off. But that's me being a selfish biotch I suppose.

DH wears his 99% of the time. He says, and I quote, "It's no coincidence I chose a profession that allows me to wear PJ's all the time." Dude loves his scrubs. I had him bring me home a stack of smaller scrub bottoms for me to wear around the house. They are SO comfy!

J will tell everyone that he picked his profession so he could wear scrubs all day, but when it comes to going out he does not like to wear them. If he HAS to stop on the way home at the grocery store or something like that, he will, but if we are going somewhere he changes. He is always calling me saying, "I forgot to bring a change of clothes, will you bring me something?" He will even change in the middle of the parking garage (no one is ever there) so that he doesn't have to wear them out. I think its been once that we went out with other residents that he gave in and didn't change.

I also make DH bring home small scrubs, they are waaaay better than sweats!!!! My sister, who is a lawyer, told me when I offered a pair to her that they reminded her too much of "prison clothes". I thought that was pretty funny. They may be the same texture but they are not usually bright day-glo orange...

All the time! Like others posted, he loves them and says being able to wear them is one of his favorite things about his job.

constantly. I was happy to switch from light baby blue to a prettier emerald green because he wears them all the time. He even likes to have clinics after procedures so he can get out of wearing a tie. Scrubs are great for painting, staining, and yard work, BTW.

DH loves his for work, but he's really good about changing as soon as he gets home. He doesn't hug me or touch the baby until he's wearing something else. I wish he'd change at the hospital so I wouldn't have to wash them, but life goes on... He'll wear them into the store if he needs to stop on the way home, but if we're going out, he'll change beforehand.

DH wears his to clinic. As an orthopod, he's contantly getting plaster everwhere, and it's just better to wear scrubs in clinic. He, of course, wears them in the OR. He loves the Grey's Anatomy scrubs because they have belt loops and pockets. It makes it easier to wear his phone on his hip as opposed to having it suspended on a string. They are even more comfy than other scrubs.

He wears them all the time but is loathe to wear them out, even to go to the store. He won't come home jyst to change, but he will change into civvies if he's already home and going out again. Drives me nuts because of the extra time and laundry.
