At the hospital I used to work at I remember we also had a scrubs vending machine where you used a card or some form of payment. They also returned scrubs to the machine for in house pick up and cleaning. Several staff members kept stacks of scrubs from the machine at home as well including members that shouldn't have access to the machine or have to wear scrubs. The girls who became pregnant at the office would get scrubs bottoms from the machine somehow and wear them with the excuse they were the only pants that fit them while pregnant.

updated to add: Just saw a young couple walking around the neighborhood and pushing their baby in the stroller and the husband was wearing his blue scrubs. lol

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there.

DH would live in his if he could but only wears them to and from work. I don't remember him wearing scrubs in public in either residency (he drove) or now. Back in NY, I saw people in scrubs on the subway all the time. I always thought it was gross because there's no way of telling whether they're going to the hospital or coming back. Washing them is an extra load a week but we write that expense off our taxes at the end of the year.
