  • Speaking of annoying....

I guess I should explain the ads that are up on the deepblue and fiapple themes.....since we're going on about telemarketers, etc. We partnered up with google adsense and with nowloans...and the income that we have ALREADY generated from click throughs will pay for the newsletter for next year. This means that we will be able to continue to mailing it out for next year instead of having it as a PDF only.

If you are not interested in continuing to stay on the mailing list (ie you prefer to just get the pdf) please email me krismathms@yahoo.com and I will take you off.

The July/August edition is unfortunately a tad late but it will be out by Wed. Summer got away from me.

In any case, I appreciate the interest in the ads...remember though to only click on something if you are really interested in it....otherwise it generates false clicks.

Anyway...I probably should have said something sooner....I hate going to websites and dealing with annoying ads, but at the same time, I recognizet that this is a necessary evil for now. If it helps us to continue to maintain the newsletter, etc. then for now it seems worth it.

Some ads are way more annoying than others--I think these are fine.

I don't find them particularly annoying because they don't interfere with seeing the functional part of the screen and there are not any pop-ups (hate those).
btw, I did look at the NowLoans site and actually found it interesting because it listed the phone and websites for the 3 major credit reporting companies. Colorado requires these companies to give consumers a free copy of their credit report on an annual basis. I've been meaning to do that and finally got it done! Woohoo! One note though: the phone number for one of the companies is wrong -- it's for a "horny college student" line or something like that. You'll have to get the correct number off the website. (And if you state allows for free credit reports, you can't get them online. You must call).

What do you mean by that? Do we still not get 'credit' for clicking on it?

          credit?

Yes, we get credit anytime someone clicks on a google ad...no purchases etc are necessary...but...clicking for the sake of generating money is a big no-no The google program does have a 'spider' (ick) that crawls the site and tries to place interesting, appropriate ads...so by all means click if it interests you... It's just a good program and I don't want to abuse the privilege! Also...if any offensive/weird ads get thrown in, let me know..we can ban them.
