    Sigh. It might hit 70 today (with the rain I'm guessing no). My veggie garden isn't growing at all though this summer. The grapes are doing ok though. I have more bunches than ever before. I hope they all grow well. This year I also planted corn.

    When is the sun coming to Minnesota? TX and FL peeps ... quit hogging it!!!

    Most Floridians I know will gladly trade a week or two of sunlight for some serious rain! I know the news stations love to exaggerate, but they are reporting that the city of West Palm Beach is almost our of water. Only enough for a few more weeks. And I know our fires aren't as bad as out in AZ but there are over 300 wildfires burning. And the entire Jax/St Aug area seems to be covered in a smoky haze.

    It's too bad we truly can't divert some of the flooding to the burning sections of this country! Weather socialism!

      Absolutely! Our lake is down 2-3 feet, if not more, in just the last month! We got a little rain yesterday, but not nearly enough. We definitely have the sunshine thing covered, but I could definitely stand for some serious rain at this point. Looks like there's about a 30-40% chance for most days this week with highs in the low to mid 90's.

      The fires suck. Air quality has been absolutely horrible.

        While I am squarely in Kris's camp on this one, I will vouch for how bad the drought is down in FL. I was surprised by the way the smoke from the fires drifts so far.

          We're on stage two watering restrictions. The last rain we had was the first week of May. I don't know why we can't develop a natural resources policy and infrastructure in this country. If we can move oil from Texas to Chicago, we should be able to move water from the Missouri River to the San Antonio River.

              You are more than welcome to take the Texas sun...we're getting close to 100 every day now. My longing for autumn has already commenced.

              Pretty dry here too lately, though.

                51 and drizzling here. I looked around wondering if a window had been left open, because it was so cold in the house this morning. But then I realized I had the heat off for the past week! It's 65 indoors...oops!

                  I didn't even bother trying to grow anything this year. (except the lawn- a great year to install sod!)

                  I did hear that we have an underground reservoir that can keep us at level two for another few months. I don't know though. This is BAD. Even just a little bit of rain to wash off the dust would be great.
