  • Long distance telephone provider

Does anyone have a long-distance provider that they currently use and like (and has cheap rates)? Or has anyone used one of those websites where they compare rates for you? I'm looking for a new provider and don't really know of any other than the usual big ones (MCI, AT&T, etc). We don't really make that many long-distance calls (try to use our cell phone minutes for that), but I still want to try to get a good rate.

I use Capsule Communications and it is CHEAP.
    http://www.capsulecom.com/
I pay the bill with credit card (set up for automatic payment) and get my bill on-line so that I don't have to pay a monthly fee or have a minimum. But this is seriously cheap. The rates are the same at all time of day. For example, I called Seattle WA for 40 minutes and it cost $1.58 (without taxes) -- so it's around 3.8 cents per minute?
International is way cheap too. I talked to my husband about 4 times when he was in Rome (and called and missed him a few times) and it was around $11.
When I've had questions, I email customer service and hear back pretty quickly.

      Kris,
You may want to look at the "become an agent" part of this website. The way I heard about this was through a woman's group that offered a link to the site -- I think it generated income for the group.

We use a calling card from Sam's wholesale club...the rate is 3.47 cents per minute in the continental US. You can reup the minutes over the phone with a credit card...

We use http://www.usadatanet.com. It's best if you live in the Northeast.

If you live in the NE and call in the NE, your call is .99. Even if you talk for 300 hours. When Kevin and I had a LDR, this was VERY helpful. One month we talked for 1800 minutes 8O and the bill was only $21. It's 10 cents/minute for calls less than 10 minutes. And for other areas of the country each call is 1.99 and 2.99 to call Canada. I think it's still a good deal even outside the northeast.

There are no fees associated with the plan...very nice since everyone I know is long distance!

              long distance

We have local service and then use BigZoo for long distance.... http://www.bigzoo.com . You can get it for between 2.9 and 3.9/minute...and international calls are also dirt cheap. We've saved a lot on our long distance bill since starting this!
