  • weird or not weird?

I think there should be a weird or not weird thread. Because I always have things that I think are weird, but I'm not sure if it is my weirdness thinking that it is weird, or if it's actually weird.
So, tell me...am I weird for thinking this is weird?

A woman who frequently checks us out at the grocery store always comes around the counter and hugs Ayla. (already very weird to me)
Then the other day she told the bagger to hug Ayla too. (even weirder)

I don't even know how to tell her that I think it's weird. And somehow every time we shop she is the only one working. I guess this is another reason why I should start having our groceries delivered.

Definitely weird! Maybe you could start jumping in with a "Wait! She has a cold!" And stopping the hug. After a few times, she might get the hint...

Weird. Tell her she has hand foot mouth. I bet she'd stop being available when you go to check out.

You could come up with a new disease each trip!

Is it possible she's a "differently abled" person? I know one of our grocery stores hires people with Downs or other delays/conditions, and she may just not realize that it's really not okay.

Shakti, no, she's not. That would make it more understandable though.

Definitely not right! Maybe there is a disability that you don't see. Perhaps talk with the store manager if you know him/her.

Weird. No one should touch your child. Besides, she's been handling money and her hands are not clean.
