  • Hey Lutherans-help!

We've been invited to our next door neighbor's baby baptism next weekend. This is the baby that was the surprise adoption (and we broke in to their house to get things set up for them) It's not 'just' the baptism but also coincides with the six-month legal waiting period for the adoption so he's really and truly theirs forever.

Suggestions for a gift? If it were 'just' a baptism I'd go low-key but 1) they're our next door neighbors and we're pretty tight and 2) he's adopted, and well, that hits a soft spot for me for obvious reasons and 3) his grandfather is a Lutheran minister and will be doing the service.

    Help- I have a week.

Anything keepsake-ish would be nice.....a blanket with the baby's monogram or name.....something like that.

Not Lutheran - but my Goddaughter is (so I've been to Lutheran baptisms)

I agree with Sally! I bought my Goddaughter a little "lovie" that said "Jesus Loves Me". I also got her a framed print that had a bedtime prayer on it. You could check out Family Christian Store (there appear to be 4 in SA) or Lifeway Christian Store. If you don't want to go religious, I would go along the lines of something you'd get for a child's birth.
