Oh Jenn what a horrible loss. Please tell me that they have now taken him into custody. I can't even imagine what her family must be going through. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend and her little girl. How's Nikoli handling it? I assume he knew the little girl & possibly played with her.

Veggie was the after school teacher at crunchy school. If you look on my FB page you'll see the invite to her vigil. It's so sad. I spoke with our principal and she's bringing in counselors for our kids.

You know, there are some really compelling reasons why I don't do counseling... I ended up doing a mini grief group this morning in front of the elementary school with several of the parents. The kids HAVE someplace safe to talk about it- the rest of us are hanging. I fully expect to lose it tonight at the vigil but for now I'm keeping it together.

That's a lot to have to do (act as support for others) when you are grieving. How are you feeling about all of this? The failure of the system is inexcusable! These are senseless deaths.

The thing that bothers me the most is that I can't imagine as a parent knowing as you take your last breath, that you were unable to protect your child from a similar fate. I know in my heart that he tortured them and Veggie went down fighting. I hope Sammy didn't suffer. I know that she too put up a hell of a fight.

I hope the bastard goes to jail and the inmates find out that he killed his own kid and they provide him with a similar opportunity to experience that level of torture and fear.
