    Did anyone develop allergies post-pregnancy?

After 2 months I'm able to wear my (white gold) wedding rings again, but I'm getting an itchy rash on my ring finger. Might just be a coincidence due to dry skin, but I was curious to know if anyone has had a similar experience.

One of my friends had this happen - she just doesn't wear her rings anymore :/ What about necklaces or other jewelry? Are you reacting to that? I would totally go see someone if I were in your shoes!

Are you getting a rash just from wearing them or could it be from washing your hands with your rings on and having trapped moisture left behind? I got this in the Caribbean along with most of the spouses. We never figured out if it was the moisture in the environment or if there was something in the water.

This. I have platinum rings, not white gold, and I've had a rash develop there during the summer months - swelling of hands + moisture from humidity/washing of hands + sensitive skin = itchy, bumpy rash. I used hydrocortisone cream and tried to keep my ring off as much as possible, and it went away in a couple of days. I would say that if your rash is really flaky and red or has pus, then you should get it looked at.

My sister can't wear any gold, and it developed after pregnancy. She can wear white gold so she got a new cheaply band and doesn't wear her original set ever.

Wonder if maybe you could tolerate yellow gold or another non-alloy metal?

I'm going to try other rings and necklaces. I know my pearls are safe

Maybe it is moisture...it's not all the way around my finger, just the top under the largest cluster of stones

I get this in the winter. It's itchy, and flaky. I take my rings off at night, and put some triple abx ointment on the area.
Hoping it's not a new allergy!

I've developed a host of allergies after pregnancy. Didn't discover them for a while though because my first spring postpartum I was so sleep deprived I barely noticed anything. I doubt they'd test you while breastfeeding though because of hormones.
