What are your plans? We have none and I'm bummed. I did make it clear I'm not watching Xbox though

We're going to a little get together in our neighborhood but I doubt we'll stay until midnight.
I have to admit that I'm terribly bored right now. It's gray/cold in Cleveland and I'm enormous so I can't do much right now. I thought about asking DH to go hiking the other day but then I realized that hiking in mud away from a hospital was a bad idea at 37 weeks pregnant.Married to a Urology Attending! Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

We're going out to an early dinner as a family of 4. I was hoping for a reason to celebrate but we'll wait until the contract is actually signed and we'll be in bed before midnight. I can't remember the last time we actually celebrated the New Year!Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

At this moment, meeting friends at a local brewery we like going to. J keeps saying he is going to look for something else.. I don't think he understands its NYE day already and everything else is booked. You know what he is doing right now? playing a computer game. He has a list of things he was going to do today, but guess who is washing the dishes? Yup me... Whoops this turned into a rant.
If nothing else, we should be having dinner with another couple and then coming back to the apartment with a low key ringing in the new year. I am good with that.-L.Jane

DH did suggest going someplace nice for dinner. With the baby. Hellllll no. There is a German place nearby that we really like and is child friendly. Its only open for dinner on weekends, do that might be fun.
I could also start on taxes. ThAts oddly fun to me...for now.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Plan on staying in and watching a movie. We'll probably be asleep before midnight. On Sunday the apartment's we live in is throwing a New Year's Day BBQ. It will be dry that day and everyone in the complex is invited to join. It's at 1pm on 1/1/12!Last edited by Cinderella; 12-31-2011, 11:42 AM.PGY4 Nephrology Fellow
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there.

I loathe new years eve. We don't have plans yet, which normally would be ok by me. But my BF has off tomorrow, so I'll go out. I hate paying a ridiculous cover to wait a ridiculously long time to get a drink at a bar I could get into for free 364 days a year. Add to that all the dbags that seem to come out of the woodwork. Hate it.
I refuse to be in charge of NYE plans, as organizing something is so freaking stressful. Most of the places our friends are going to are already sold out for the night, so who knows where we will end up. I wish we could just have a little get-together and play board games or something. I am so totally lame.I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Getting ready to go out to dinner at a local Italian restaurant - part NYE celebration, part "thesis-is-finished" celebration. It's an early seating - 5:15PM - but their last one for the evening, as then they have a dinner/open bar/DJ thing for either $79 or $109/person. Way too much for us at this point. We bought a bottle of champagne, and when we get back from dinner, we will probably drink that and play games on the Wii until midnight.
Happy New Year's everyone!!Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending
