As an OB nurse, I am so glad you had a great experience! We love to hear that people had a positive birth experience and also good experiences with nursing staff. Honestly, one of the biggest things you can do is to FILL OUT AND SEND BACK the hospital stay survey you will get in the mail in the next 2-6 weeks. It asks about all areas of your hospital stay, but the bulk of it refers to your experience with nursing. These surveys are read by management and staff memebers (at least they are SUPPOSED to be available to staff members) and under "Obama-Care" medicare and medicaid reimbursement is now taking these scores from the surveys (called Press-Ganey Scores) into consideration.
Also, a card to the nurse manager of the maternity services with specific mentioning of names is also nice. One last thing...send a picture of you and/or your baby! We love to put them up in the break room!

I have to say that I still think about the nurse we had when C was hospitalized. That man ROCKED! He was a flight nurse and had a PhD, but was the nicest, most common sense of all of the medical personnel that rotated through his room in the week he was there.

How do I find this person's name/contact information?
Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

I would call the unit and just ask whoever answers the phone who that person is (I would also mention that you want to know because you want to send a thank you note - otherwise they may think you are making a complaint).
