I need to review a poorly designed website for a class and compare it with one that is well done. For obvious reasons, it is fairly easy to find one that is well done. But, does anyone know of any websites that are just awful?

I had to do a similar project in college. I can't remember what site I did, but I'll never forget this site that one of my classmates found: http://algy.com/anxiety/index.php.
I'm on my phone, so it might have improved since then, but it's still pretty weird, especially for a website that covers something so serious. Between the tapirs everywhere and the overuse of abbreviations, it's pretty bad...might not be bad enough for what you're looking for though!I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Oh good gawd, some of those companies should really know better. Check out http://www.pinesol.com/. I mean, really. There is no reason for that hot-mess of a site.
But I think I am going to stick with CP's suggestion. Having the visual field filled with tapirs (yes, tapirs, not typos) is really, really over the top.Kris

They do generally suck. I'm hopeful that they'll slowly come to realize they're missing out on business by having an "experience" instead of just the information people want to know.Sandy

The company I work for has an awful website- it's embarrassing, in fact. It fails to mention half of the services we offer, there's no information on how to access services, you can't tell what we DO, it's full of acronyms that only people in the field would know- it's on the agenda to be fixed but it's been that bad for YEARS...

Would you know that we provide Veteran's mental health services, or methadone treatment or treat injured prisoners or provide substance abuse treatment for pregnant teens or foster care/respite for families w/ adults with IDD? No, you would not know that.
Please- have at it. It would prove my point far more effectively.

That IS embarrassing. Holy cow. I <3 the "social media" menu item that is an empty page with a big facebook logo/link (even though there's a "join us on facebook" link in the footer on every page) And the page about the president and CEO with a comments section?! Wow. I'm *itching* to fix it up for y'all, but I'm sure there are tons of stakeholders that would have to be dealt with and approve any rearrangement?
It looks like *someone* has access to make updates; one of the menu items is to an actual event in the actual future - is it just a matter of connecting the people who know what services to list under "our services" with the people who have access to change that page?Sandy
