How about this disgusting worm that hitchhiked along with the live rock for our saltwater tank? So freaking gross!

I killed a huge spider yesterday. I've been jumpy ever since. Ick!

Bumping this thread because it's bug season again. We've had two big spiders in our home in the past week, flying stinging things are out and around the cars in the parking lot, and flying biting things are in the house. Also seeing the sugar ants starting up.

Do you guys do anything to prevent bugs from getting in or use anything special to kill off bugs when they do get in?

I now have chickens, and Iet them "sweep" the yard and our patio area. It's quite nice.

You have a darling little setup for them and I just adore watching the chickie's project.

I have to admit, we had such a bad spider infestation last year that we had to use heavy duty chemicals outside around the garage and the doorways. We did lavender, peppermint and lemon oils in the windowsills and that seemed to keep them from coming inside, but they colonized the area outside our side door and around the mailbox so badly that we couldn't use the door until we blasted them with spider killer. I was sweeping them down twice a day. They're just getting started again this year... I think I'll leave our leftover spray for the new tenants. Ugh.

Ewe, good thing you're moving out. That's more than an enough to handle. I'll have to look into the peppermint, lemon oil and lavender windowsills treatment.

Today, I had hung clothes out on the line to dry, it was cold, in the 50's but really windy. Tonight I brought them in the house and could hear this really persistent buzzing sound. I leaned close to the basket and it was louder. I took out the pail of clothes pins and there was a huge bumble bee buzzing loudly, trying to keep warm. My über crunchy self did not hesitate to throw him out.
