DH made fun of me for checking, but my name was on there! Apparently if you're due a refund and the company issuing the refund can't find you, they eventually have to turn that money over to the state. I just got a check for $74.97 that was originally from Hewlett Packard. ??? We have HP computers, though I don't recall sending in a rebate form. Not that that means anything, lol. They also didn't try very hard to find me.

Oh, and helpful hint. Check your married and maiden name. My mom found hers under her maiden name.

Oh well- checked all the New York relatives, living and dead- no luck. That's not surprising, given that side of the family though- they never would have let any money go unclaimed!

CP, I can't believe your mom got 3K. That's awesome! I only expected to get 5 bucks so 75 was a nice surprise. I told DH I would treat him to a dinner out.

TenD, lol, I was a freshman in HS. That was a long ass time ago. It only took a week to get it, let us all know when he gets his refund. I'm dying to know where it's from and for how much.

I checked, and none of the addresses match. I'm assuming I can't claim it then, even if the legal names are the same? *laugh*
I also checked other states I've lived in: try googling "Unclaimed Property + [state of residence here]".

He used to own a store and he thinks it was for a deposit he made with the phone company to open the account. Finding money is so much fun
