I have been using my Whirpool Duets for about six weeks now and LOVE them! They are so much better then the front loaders I had in Roch or Portland.

ST - we got lucky and found a pair of HEs on Craigslist for $400. Since you've got some time, I would look everyday. We bought them weeks ago and stored them in the basement before putting them on the truck headed south. When you've got time, there's always a chance to find something cheap! Ours was a guy who posted them who needed them gone like 5 hours later. Dh said the guys phone was ringing off the hook but we were the first caller so we got them.

We have the electrolux IQ touch (HE, without steam) pair. I love these - they have the largest capacity washer/dryers (I can fit two king sized duvet's in at once, or... what I would have washed in one load in my old GE front loader, I can fit four loads in now) with pedestals. They also have a sanitize wash, what does this mean? It means that when your childs friend sleeps over and then the mom calls you four days later to let you know that said friend, has pinworms, that you can feel good about killing everything that went through that wash.

When they arrived, I had my husband take a photo of me with the set. Why? I spend more time with my washer and dryer in a week, than I do with my dh.

The app is how I found ours. One key thing to know first: do you need an electric or gas set. Don't want to buy the opposite of what you need!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the July issue of Consumer Reports goes through a listing of all kitchen appliances and products. The top french-door bottom freezer frig is the Kenmore 7201, it's also the least expensive at $1550 and it's a CR best buy.
