I was a Continental loyalist though I think it's declined since they merged with United.

Southwest. I love their corporate model as well, but they have been very good to me.

Southwest. LUV them. Re: perks, it depends where you plan to fly. I use SW for 95% of my domestic travel. For international, I use American but I would not say they have any perks. Yes, I get miles on their program but half the time my luggage does not arrive with me or they cancel my flight (and not for acts of God).

We r flying to San Diego in sept. united and American are cheaper even with one checked bag. But American has a lay over in o'hare ( which has never been a good thing for us). Southwest is only a few dollars more. Then delta has some deals plus we may have enough Points to bump to first on delta. But they are small planes so I am my sure I want to use my points

The FAA safety guys fly Southwest. We also know pilots who are captains and have been fur-lowed from American and United who didn't have enough cockpit hours to captain for Southwest. Given the choice, they're our preference, and those are the reasons.

I have always had horrific luck with O'Hare.. DH got stuck there for weather on more than one occasion.. I love southwest/airtrain.. been flying them a lot the past few months.. I also love Delta, they've always worked with me when I have had issues

I sort of operate under the theory that all airlines suck, so the best airline is the one that gets me where I need to be when I need to be there (and generally with the fewest stops).

So from here, most of the time that's United, Southwest, Frontier.

When Delta was the most useful for us, we collected a lot of points for them with a credit card. Now we have a points card with lots of options for the points, including United.

                    Southwest.
                    Or Virgin.

If you want to know your seat, Virgin.
                    If you don't care, Southwest.

I try to do all of my business travel on Southwest and they're the only ones who fly direct to BWI from SAT so they're the go-to for going home, too.

Certain times I have to fly other airlines and generally they all suck but Continental sucks less. Or used to. I was a United Premier Executive flyer back in the day. That was awesome. But, alas- they're not the primary carrier here so those days are over. I love Lufthansa for international travel. You could perform surgery in the galleys.

We really don't have an loyalty but I always check Southwest. The other thing I do is I ALWAYS search using expedia or orbitz or whatever but I always check the "winning" flight's direct sight before I book anything, sometimes they are cheaper.

We used to be huge JetBlue fans, but Southwest has won me over because of how easy they make it to fly with pets.

Count me on the Southwest bandwagon as well. I got the SW credit card just before DH started 4th year and it was seriously invaluable during interview season. It's so easy to change your flight last minute, there are no blackout dates and they don't nickle and dime you over every little thing. In my experience they've been very reliable as well.

Whether the nearest airport had Southwest or not was a consideration in our residency rank list (not a MAJOR one, but it definitely was one). We have a southwest credit card and use it for everything. They're so much better to deal with than any other airline I've had to fly recently.
