  • How to Post Pictures

I've had several people ask me how to post pictures, so I figured I would start a separate thread. We can use this thread as a "help" thread and as a "practice" thread.

The picture has to be online somewhere. If the picture is on your computer...on your hard drive...it has to first be uploaded to the internet. There are several websites that allow you to upload photos free, but I can only find one right now that will let you share the pics for free.

    groups.msn.com

I'm sure there is another site. To get pics on MSN, you have to set up a group. I tried to set up my group so that you all could just become members of my groups "mraz" and then just put your pics there. We only get 3.0MB so if you want to put up a lot of pictures, it's better to make up your own group. Go to http://groups.msn.com/mraz and sign into my group. Then click pictures and create an album. You have to install their software to allow pics to go from your computer to the internet. If you need help, let me know.

Once a picture is online...this could also be just a picture you found on another website...have this website open in one browser window, and have the other website open in another browser window. Have your post ready.

    1. RIGHT click on the picture.
    2. Click Properties.
    3. Highlight everything in the Address: URL category. Make sure to get the entire address.
    4. Copy the address....you can either hit ctrl c, select edit, copy or you can right click, select copy.
    5. Come to this website and click the little box 2nd from right at the top of the message posting screen that says Img.
    6. This will make your post have the word Img in brackets.
    7. Paste the address of the picture after that..you can either hit ctrl v, select edit, paste or you can right click, select paste.
    8. Then click the Img box again to put another Img in little brackets with a backslash.

So the final phrase will look like this:

    [img]http://webaddressofpicture[/img*]

The * is only in there so that the website doesn't think I'm actually posting a picture. It won't be there when you do it.

Hope this helps. I'm sorry that I had a bad website before. I know the msn one works because it's how I showed the pics of my wedding and house before that you all saw.

When you bring up the properties box on the picture, look at the section labeled "Dimensions." That will tell you how big the picture will be. If they are really big then it will make the post look funny and it will make it take a really long time for someone on a dialup connection to view the post.

How to shrink pictures will come later...I have other stuff to do today!

I can see my house, but I can't see the 3 pictures of your dog and the cow--all I see are boxes with red "X"s in them. Any ideas?

I uploaded a couple of family pics onto my msn group and it seemed like it should work (pics uploaded successfully, when I did the img thing to enclose the http address it showed also) but the post doesn't show the pics. Wonder what I did wrong...

Anyway, here's the website address in case anyone wants to see my family at Yellowstone. They were taken about 2 weeks ago. I've also created a medspouse group in case anyone wants to upload pics there, too. Just click on "Add photo" and then upload your picture.

                        Okay, I'm trying another test:
It should be a photo of Richard and Dede. Can anyone see them?

                            Michele,
I added some pictures to your group, however when I pasted them onto this site, they are very small. Is there any way to make them bigger? I clicked on properties but it didn't let me change any of the values.

I did that too the first time, then I went back to the thumbnail photo and clicked on it so that it was big on my screen, then went to properties and pasted it when it was large. For some reason, the web address is different when the sizes are different. Couldn't tell you why, but it worked.
