  • How to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Hi! We usually have several big family functions to attend for Thanksgiving, because we have been up to now so close to our families! One year we went to three celebrations with three different turkeys, plus my MIL's homemade tamales and pozole. Now, our little family of 5 will be celebrating by ourselves here at home. Are there any suggestions for how to make this special, especially for my oldest daughter who is almost 8 and tends to get homesick, although she likes life here in our neighborhood and she's happy at her school. Right now, traveling home is out of the question, and dh has to study for upcoming exams so he'll proabably only take Thanksgiving Day off, and be back at it on Friday and Saturday.

I don't think my daughter is concerned about the "perfect meal", but I'll probably try to do something traditional. I was just hoping for some creative ideas or anybody else's thoughts on how to celebrate this holiday away from family...

    Thanks for any ideas!
    Peggy
