  • Toy advice

We adopted a family for Christmas through our church. There's a 3-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

Anyone with kids those ages have advice on toys to get them?

    Thanks.

My almost 3 year old boy loves trucks that make noise, like fire trucks, dump trucks, etc., trains both those he pushes and those that go on their own. I just got him one of these for his birthday, he hasn't opened it yet but I think he'll love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

He also loves boy dress up things, like policemen, firemen, especially those with hats.

    Good luck!

      10 y/o girl:

      - anything arts and crafts related
      - books
      - science/chemistry kits
      - "how-to" books for things like friendship bracelets, knitting, crocheting, jewelry-making, etc.
      - kids cook books

My almost 3yo loves anything with wheels -- trains, cars of any size, ride-on toys, the Little People cars/ramps/garages. He specifically asked for a basketball hoop a few months ago. He likes books, DVDs, puzzles, and craft supplies too.

Is this family part of the church, too? They might like Veggie Tales DVDs, even if they're not. We're not even remotely religious and our kids love VT.
