2013 Gratitude Thread

Thought this would be fun!

I am grateful for (not necessarily in this order):

1. Good neighbors! I love that we have kept up our monthly get-togethers for so long. Many of them are older and wiser about issues regarding parenting, gardening, general home maintenance etc and are a wealth of support and information.

2. New school friends. I am having so much fun after the month-long break reconnecting and catching up. I feel a good 10 years younger.

3. Trusty old friends. So nice to have the comfort and security of lasting friendships.

4. My fun VW van.

5. General good health for me, Thomas and the kids.

Today, I'm grateful for PBS. I love when my 3yo says things like "The Super-Readers can help!" or "Let's build a word." And I love that they are watching a muppet singing about how she loves her kinky-curly hair.

It's early but I'll think of more before the day is done. Some days it's the little things.

I am grateful for heating! Good grief, it's cold outside. I breathe a sigh of relief every time I get back inside.

I'm grateful my husband put out family first. He took work off to take care of the baby because my daughter and I had the stomach flu. I will also be grateful when this virus leaves our home. It's been since last Wednesday. My husband and the baby haven't caught it yet.

The perks of traveling alone! No baby gear/diaper bags/grumpy babies to schlep through the airport, reading TWO magazines cover-to-cover, an empty seat beside me on the plane, lunch for one at a high-top table in a bookshop and not worrying that someone is begging for my fries. I miss my boys already but I'm having a blast so far.
