My contract doesn't run out until October...and this phone has just been awful. I just went in to the store because recently whenever I am in the middle of a call the phone will mute the other person without warning and will come in and out. I can be in the same place ... and it will happen and I can't fix it. There is no mute button for my chin/ear to accidentally push and it is just so annoying. I could not replicate this as the store (of course) but it started happening again an hour later.

This week, I was trying to get rid of as many apps that I let Zoe have to play with as possible thinking that one of them might have caused the problem. I managed to drag an app onto the actual phone dialing thing and couldn't separate them. In my zest to separate them, I somehow ... deleted them both.

It's crazy. You aren't supposed to be able to delete the phone thingy .... and now I can't make calls on my PHONE!

I was too busy to run into the shop (because the waiting takes forever. You have to sign up on a list and then wait.) Do any of you have any suggestions of quick fixes? I have looked on all screens to see if I just moved it somewhere. I can't find it.

I've done this on my blackberry before. There is an option to show/hide different icons from the touch screen. Maybe that's what happened?

You know your full app menu? Your phone button is an app, just like everything else and should be in the same menu where you find the rest of your unused app icons. You should be able to drop it from your app menu back into the tray... Not sure about the muting issue though, a lot of phones do get speaker issues when they start to get older. Maybe a factory reset would do the trick?
