IL has always been slow, slow, slow for licensing, but DH was just notified that he should submit for renewal ONE YEAR prior to expiration. The staff there is being cut by more than 2/3 due to the state's budget crisis. While I imagine the 1 year request is to give them as much time as possible, if your SO has thoughts of getting or renewing an IL license, make sure it is submitted for as early as possible.

If you live in Chicago you can do it at the Illinois center.
Go around 10 and it takes about 25 minutes.

Not a driver's license - a medical license. It used to take 3-6 months, but they are down to nearly no staff.-Deb
