Best time to have a second child?

We're having our first during my husband's surgical intern year. Ideal? No. We certainly wanted to have a kid during MS4 year, but infertility happened. I'm also hopefully taking a new job and may or may not have any paid maternity leave. However, we matched in a city near my hometown, and my mom, who doesn't work, will be nearby to help. I'll let you know next year how we survived.
