Stupid question. FB, iPhone, candy crush

Why oh why can't I get my Facebook and candy crush to sync up? It always says "can't connect and to retry" or I "don't have access to that kingdom, try again."
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I googled help and did what it said. I've restarted my phone. WTF, candy crush?

Are you at a place where they make you ask friends for help before you can access a new kingdom?

I'm no help because I've never tried to sync them. Is there a benefit in doing so (like more lives...please...)?

I'm stuck on level 165. If you figure it out, I'm happy to help unlock, but I don't know what's wrong. I sometimes get that it can't access Facebook, but I try to play anyway and ask for unlocks or whatever, and it usually works anyway. I've never had the kingdom error you're talking about.

Well, unless I am misunderstanding you, sometimes you have to wait awhile until your friends grant you access. I don't remember having to do anything to sync CC with FB, although I did have to change my FB settings to allow CC notifications, etc.
