This is me, too. Except I watch reality TV while my husband is home, knowing that HE'LL be the one that will get mad and start yelling, begin bitching ceaselessly about how stupid everyone is, or be so obnoxious he sucks all the fun right out of my Real Housewives marathon. Real Housewives is soooo my "dirty little I'm home alone" secret

        - painting my finger nails. They don't even dry before I mess them up. Even sitting still and watching tv.

-Let the kids jump on our nasty, old, falling apart furniture because they physcially can't help but needng to jump on something (knowing that in a few months/years we will have new furniture that I won't let them jump on)
-Stay up too late watching episode after episode of Mad Men on Netflix
-Make any sort of phone call while the kids are awake
-Give a snack at 4pm while the kids watch a program so I can cook dinner without them freaking out

Spending all of naptime reading blogs, e-mails, iMSN, FB, etc. (If you see me here between 1 and 3PM Central, tell me to go do something productive. . . or to take a nap!)

I think of you when I hear the Thrift Shop song. Which is hilarious because you really don't seem the hip hop/rap type. ha ha ha!

I've got to admit I've never heard the Thrift Shop song.

The yard sale/thrift shopping/crafting thing is really the oxymoron of my life. I hate clutter but I love new (or new-to-me) things. I hate wasting money but I love to shop. I hate having a bunch of scraps of this and that around, but I love crafting. So it's a constant dance of bringing things home and getting other things out of the home. For instance, I refurbished a breadbox but have no room for it in my kitchen and even the loaf of bread that is sitting on the kitchen counter drives me crazy. But, in the course of refurbishing the breadbox, I had all kinds of ideas for other ways I could do it so I just bought another breadbox at a yard sale. And we are moving in four months so I know I'm going to have to unload a breadbox before we move, that is assuming I find time to refurbish it before then. . . . and I could totally be doing that during naptime if I wasn't cruising iMSN.

ETA: I just listened to the song. Hilarious. I love it. Very tongue-in-cheek. Yes, I do have a second-hand fur jacket. I'm totally "Passin' up on those moccasins someone else's been walkin' in." (I draw the line at used shoes, undergarments, sheets, hats, and pjs.) And I totally think that paying $50 for a t-shirt that everybody else has is a big don't.

I would love to have a small breadbox as a charging station - with a power strip mounted to the back and holes drilled into the back of the box for individual cords. Or, even better? A false back to the box that is easily removed so the power strip is inside as is all of the excess cord from the individual devices.

This is a great idea. I'm also thinking that it could work as storage in an office or bathroom, even mounted to a wall. Here's the latest one in progress. It's hard to see in the pic but the paint is metallic and those little flecks are glitter. The whole thing has a very fine glitter treatment. Not sure if I can punch out the back and still have the roll top work right. It needs to roll all the way back to the bottom of the box in order to open all the way. I forgot to take a "before" picture.

Can you cut out a hole in the bottom and a notch on the side for a surge protector bar and cord?

That is a seriously cute idea and I FLOVE what you did with that bread box. It's adorable.
