It's true.
A few months ago, Thomas came home with our new cell phones. He had gone into the Verizon store to get new Androids (my personal favorite phone) and instead came home with new Windows phones because they were "free". Really. Because they were free.
I hate my phone. I have reached a point of not even carrying my phone around with me anymore because Windows has ruined my phone experience. I truly used it as a smartphone. I had several apps downloaded that I regularly used including LoseIt and a recording app where I recorded some of my lectures and then replayed them while driving to class. I had many others. I also had a great music app and found my phone's music area to be simple to navigate and set up playlists, etc.
This phone SUCKS! I can't say enough negative things about it.
The GPS that came with the phone recalculated my trip the entire way down to Florida. If I hadn't printed out a Google map, I would have been screwed. Example. After I hit Gainesville, it recalculated at every exit even though I knew I had to take the Florida Turnpike. It would have added senseless hours to my trip. There is no way to set it to the quickest route. I tried everything. It did the same thing when I tried to find our Hotel. I had to give up on it. I was in tears over it and so Thomas told me to download the paid VZNavigator. We have had similar issues with VZ Navigator that aren't as pervasive, but ... Sunday night when I came in from the smaller airport in Minneapolis, there was road construction blocking on-ramps onto the highway. I was supposed to try to meet Thomas and Andrew at the airport because Andrew flew out to Germany. I missed saying good-bye to Andrew because my VZNavigator would only calculate the smaller airport as the minneapolis-St. paul airport.....not the larger airport. I was so mad. I felt like taking my phone out, putting it under my tire, and driving over it!
There is no LoseIt app. There are currently no plans for one. The recording app I found is okay, but the phone itself doesn't record well. There is too much static. The Nokia music area is such a pain in the ass. I have exactly 1 song downloaded to my phone.
Thomas thinks I'm being a big baby. He feels like as long as he can call and text me it's all good. His solution is that I actually buy a GPS for my van and an iPOD. WTH?....hence my not carrying my phone anymore.
What are my options here? Can I take this phone in after 3 months, tell them I hate it, and get a different phone? Am I being a big baby?
